EMDR Certification Courses

A Note About Certification

An Overview of Our EMDR Training Program

Many people inquire about being certified in EMDR. It is important to understand that the courses being offered through EMDR Instruction are courses in EMDR basic training. Basic Training is defined by the EMDR International Association (EMDRIA), as completion of parts one and two and the 10 consultation hours after parts one and two (five hours after each course). Please see the link on consultation on this website. The courses offered by EMDR Instruction are approved and accredited by EMDRIA. We also provide certification in EMDR. In order to obtain certification you have to have taken an EMDRIA accredited and approved course.  Certification, as it is defined by EMDRIA, requires an additional 20 hours of consultation and instruction beyond basic training. That consultation can be provided by anybody who is an approved consultant with EMDRIA. All our staff members are approved consultants. It is also important to understand that this course is a prerequisite to certification. In other words, you must take the basic training in EMDR and then, if you choose to do so, you may go on for certification afterwards. For complete information on becoming certified in EMDR please go to emdria.org. At the top of the page click on EMDR Training and Education then go down and click on EMDR Certification Application.
